Managed Umami_

Website analytics without the cookie banner

Umami is simple, privacy-focused website analytics: page views, referrers, devices and campaign tags, without cookies or collecting personal data, so most sites need no cookie banner for it.

From £5 a month, VAT included. No server to run.

  • HTTPS and your own domain
  • Health checks and restarts
  • Security updates underneath
  • Replacing Google Analytics
  • Privacy-friendly stats
  • Campaign tracking
  • Several sites in one place

First steps

  1. Sign in. When the app is live, open it in the console and choose Reveal admin password; it is shown once, so save it in your password manager. Then sign in at your-name.apps.fresh.dev/login.
  2. Add your first website under Settings › Websites; Umami gives it a website ID.
  3. Put the tracking script in your site’s pages (below), then visit your site to see the first page view arrive.
  4. Add team members under Settings › Users if others need the reports, or share a read-only link to a website’s dashboard.

Add the tracking script

Paste this into the <head> of every page, with the website ID Umami shows:

<script defer src="https://your-name.apps.fresh.dev/script.js"
        data-website-id="your-website-id"></script>

Events are sent to /api/send on the same address. Tag links with utm_ parameters to see campaigns.

Good to know

  • Umami sends no email, so keep the admin password safe.

The Umami project
