Managed Forgejo_
A community-run Git forge for your projects
Forgejo is a community-governed Git forge, developed in the open on Codeberg: repositories, pull requests, issues, wikis and package registries for your team.
From £5 a month, VAT included. No server to run.
- HTTPS and your own domain
- Health checks and restarts
- Security updates underneath
- Open-source projects
- Private team code
- Mirroring repositories
- Package hosting
First steps
- Sign in. When the app is live, open it in the console and choose Reveal admin password; it is shown once, so save it in your password manager. Then sign in at your-name.apps.fresh.dev/user/login. Username owner
- Sign in as owner (Forgejo reserves the name admin) and create an organisation for your team, then its first repository.
- Mirror a repository you keep elsewhere with New Migration, and Forgejo keeps it in sync.
- Create accounts for your team yourself: open sign-up is turned off.
- Add SMTP details in the console for notifications.
Clone over HTTPS
Every repository has an HTTPS address. Clone it with Git as usual:
git clone https://your-name.apps.fresh.dev/your-org/project.git
When Git asks for a password, use your Forgejo password, or an access token from Settings › Applications if you use two-factor sign-in.
Good to know
- Git works over HTTPS only; Git over SSH isn’t available.
- Forgejo Actions are turned off, because they need a separate runner.
- Fresh runs the Forgejo LTS release.
The Forgejo project
Forgejo is open-source software, licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later. Fresh runs version 15.0.10 of the upstream release for you. Fresh is not affiliated with the Forgejo project; for questions about the software itself, its documentation and community are the best place to start.
